Tech Conveyor Inc. specializes in providing turn-key Material handling, parcel manifesting and computer control systems to the distribution industry.
In today's rapidly changing distribution environment, the need to engineer a system that will meet your present and future requirements is essential. Distribution systems of today and tomorrow must rely on integrated software that is reliable, flexible, expandable and still "USER FRIENDLY." Tech Conveyor has in-house expertise in the design and integration of high speed picking, packing and shipping systems. Rising costs and competition have created a need for systems that provide greater speed, accuracy and capacity while maintaining a high level of reliability. Tech Conveyor is an industry leader in the development of high speed automated induction, weighing, sortation and parcel manifesting systems. Every customer has unique requirements, Tech Conveyor Inc. can offer a turn-key system utilizing a variety of sortation equipment (tilt tray, slat or shoe type sorter, pop-up wheel, or pusher arm) designed to meet those specific requirements. We feel there are five (5) major steps to implementing a successful system.
Tech Conveyor Inc. is the Single Source Company capable of providing the most efficient solutions to your material handling problems. Tech Conveyor, Inc. through years of experience, has developed an expertise in the design and implementation of accurate high speed automated sortation systems. Because applications vary greatly, we can provide a number of sortation alternatives. The proper sortation equipment for a specific application is determined based on a number of criteria:
We have installed pusher, pop-up/swivel wheel, shoe, and tilt tray sortation systems. All engineered to meet the specific systems requirements of the client's needs. Along with selecting the correct sortation hardware, the key element of any sortation system is the Sortation Controller, or computer that controls the entire sorting process. These processes include, but are not limited to, tracking of packages to the correct destination; system integration with infeed conveyors, in-motion and static scales, laser scanners and the confirmation of sorted package data. Tech Conveyor, Inc. has a proven Sortation Controller that is extremely reliable and flexible. The Controller is capable of supporting the simultaneous operation of multiple sorters. The stand-alone Sortation Controller provides user friendly interface for gate mapping (destination mapping) and other control features. The Sortation Controller can also be supplied as a replacement for obsolete existing control systems. The automatic induction of packages onto any type of sorter is critical. The pre-gapping and tracking of these packages must be accurately controlled and maintained. Tech Conveyor's reliable induction systems are capable of feeding any type of sortation equipment. With tilt tray systems we utilize our high speed automatic induction lines. These automated lines are capable of achieving the highest possible throughput rates while at the same time maintaining the extreme accuracy necessary with any automated sortation system. Tech Conveyor, Inc. can help you design and implement the right sortation system to meet your specific shipping requirements. Tech Conveyor's high speed Parcel Sortation and Manifest System allows parcel shippers to weigh, sort and manifest over 60 packages per minute using one (1) in-line belt conveyor scale. With multiple In-Motion Scales, we can weigh, scan and manifest over 200,000 parcels per shift. Tech Conveyor's Parcel Sortation and Manifest System is a distributed processing system of information and data through real time control and non-real time processing. Various primary and ancillary subsystems (such as real-time embedded controllers, conveyor controls, etc.), which are able to be site specific, comprise the TCI Parcel Sortation and Manifesting System. By utilizing this approach, the system operates quickly and efficiently throughout the course of operation and will allow for future expansion (or modifications) as your needs grow and shipping requirements change. A typical system may consist of various combinations of In-Motion Scales, Static Scales, Scanners (Omni-Directional, Line type, hand-held type), where the parcel's weight and barcode information are obtained automatically and/or manually. This information is then used to sort the parcel to the correct destination. Only when the Sortation Subsystem receives a confirmation of sortation will this information be transmitted to the Shipping Subsystem. Sortation System The Sortation Subsystem is a real-time system that is designed to support multiple modes of operation. One mode is designed for networked communication with the Shipping Subsystem and another is in a stand-alone environment. All of the Sortation Subsystem screens are menu driven. The concept of "users" has been incorporated to limit the access of any particular user (or operator) to only those functions and features that particular user (or operator) requires to be able to perform their job activities. Some of the available screens and features are as follows:
Main
Menu Package
Info Statistics Status
Indicators Sorting
Pattern Device
Messages Gate
Information Event
Messages View
Events Status
Codes Device
Tables Diagnostic
Display Shipping System When the Sortation Subsystem is networked to the Shipping System, the Shipping System is responsible for controlling the overall operation of the system and generating a manifest(s) for each truck. The Shipping Subsystem may also utilize Mobile Terminals and/or Remote Dock Stations where parcels can be manually added to or deducted from a truck either because they were non-conveyable packages or last minute additions/deletions to that truck. All of the displays on the workstation are designed for use by a beginner and as a reference for the experienced user. All of the functions that can be performed at the workstation are depicted on the screen by a series of pictured icons which will open a series of windows or screens. The main icons are:

Numbers The Manifesting Subsystem will account for all the parcels within each truck and determine a shipping charge for each parcel (if applicable) according to the various rules and regulations for that carrier. The Manifest Subsystem will produce a computer generated manifest acceptable for the United States Postal Service (Including Supplemental Forms), United Parcel Service, and various other carriers. Tech Conveyor's Parcel Sortation and Manifest System has the ability to pass all the information obtained during the sorting and shipping processes to a clients mainframe (or PC). Through the use of a dial-up modem. Tech Conveyor personnel can access the entire Parcel Sortation and Manifest System from our Customer Assistance Center, to provide problem diagnosis and resolution, configuration updates, and rate table updates. In addition to the computer generated manifests, the system has many additional features (such as Package Find, Weight Re-Direction, Package Exclusion, etc.) and will produce various standard reports such as: Shipment Statistics, Gate Statistics, Department or Ship Mode Summaries, or a report specifically designed and used by an individual client. Computerized Control System Tech Conveyor's in-house software division has developed a number of control packages for material handling and data generation applications for distribution and warehouse environments. Tech Conveyor's stand-alone systems and controllers can be added to existing operations, replace obsolete control packages or provide an integrated piece to a completely new system. Tech Conveyor, Inc. can implement a system to meet your specific application requirements. Picking and Packing Systems Tech Conveyor, Inc. designs and installs picking and packing systems as well as palletizing and manufacturing systems. Whether picking from static shelving, flow rack, pallet rack or an automated picking system, we can provide the right equipment or conveyor system to meet your specific requirements. The routing and type of conveyor used is critical in order to achieve an economy of equipment and space as well as an efficient operational flow of orders through the system. We can provide picking systems that use paper pick lists, or computer based paperless systems that use LED displays at each pick location to direct the picking operation. Both single level and multiple level pick modules are available. Whether a zone, batch or wave picking system, Tech Conveyor, Inc. can help you design the right system to meet your order fulfillment requirements. Tech Conveyor's in-line packing concept can help speed orders through the packing operation by eliminating the re-packing of orders and using in-line dunnage fill and carton sealing stations.
